146th Anniversary of the Skirmish at Gamble's Hotel (Full Color)
The Skirmish at Gamble's Hotel happened on March 5, 1885 when 500 federal soldiers, under the command of Reuben Williams of the 12th Indiana Infantry, marched into Florence to destroy the railroad depot but were met by Confederate soldiers backed up with 400 militia.
The reenactment, organized by the 23rd South Carolina Infantry, was held at the Rankin Plantation in Florence, South Carolina on Saturday, March 5, 2011.
